Vintage "RICHARD WEBB LTD" cream herbarium bird plants 6" tea tin 1970's. Offset lithograph of a herbarium of a bird, bee, acorn and plants/flowers, illustrated in watercolour with names of flora and fauna as well as their Latin names.

Featuring Crab-Apple (Pyrus Malus), White-throat (Sylviidoe Sylvia), common bumble bee (Bombus Terrestris), flower of Lime or Linden Tree (Jilia Europoea), Acorns (Quercus Pedunculata), common Gorse or Whin (Ulex Europoeus), and Dog Roses (Rosa Canina) on the lid. Inscribed with various proverbs/thoughts: "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness!" - J. Keats, "Ye who live on Mountain Peak" - E. B. Browing, "Feel the gladness of the May" - W. Wordsworth, "July, Boyling like to fire" - Spenser, and on the lid "All twinkling with the dewdrops sheen The Brair-rose falls in streamer's green." - Scott.

Tin is small and cylindrical, pre-barcoded. It was part of their "The Country Diary Provisions" range, featuring other flora and fauna illustrations, and stored English Breakfast tea. Made in England in 1977. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.

Excellent Vintage Condition.
