Vintage handmade scratch built wooden toy cannon large 12" AUSTRALIA 1950's GVC
Vintage handmade scratch built 12" wooden toy cannon 1950's. Handmade scratch built folk art toy cannon from various types of wood, naive design. Large and very heavy as barrel is constructed of solid wood. Barrel and wheel studs painted metallic silver. Carriage is stained a dark brown. Non-functional to shoot cannonballs as barrel is solid. Barrel can pivot from loading to firing positions on its axle. Wheels are operational as they spin on their axles. Ignition fuse constructed from polyester rope. A wheel stud is a repurposed black plastic toy wheel. Wheels are unpainted, unstained and unvarnished. Unsigned. Handmade likely in Australia in 1950's-70's. Sourced within The Mornington Peninsula.
Good Vintage Condition. Wear to silver paint, stains to wheels and rope is frayed.
