Description

Antique black mother of pearl MOP papier-mâché snuff box 2.5" 1800's. Small, black lacquered and oiled papier-mâché snuff box. Rectangular, curved corners. Hinged lid. Beautiful mother of pearl MOP Abalone shell inlay, geometric star design made up of diamond shapes. Fine silver wire bordering lid. Made in England in Victorian era approx 1830-90's. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.

Excellent Antique Condition. Hinge in working order with no damage. Lid closes well. MOP appears intact. Some loss to silver work. Wear to lacquer at edges esp corners. Sticker residue at front of box at bottom.
